Two terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir encounter

Security forces killed two unidentified terrorists in an encounter in the Majalta area of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday evening, officials said. The operation was launched after a joint team of the Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Jammu and Kashmir Police detected suspicious movement in the Sohan area of Majalta. The suspected militants opened fire, triggering a gunbattle that resulted in their deaths. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site, according to officials. The identities and affiliations of the slain individuals have not yet been established. Additional security personnel have been deployed, and extensive searches are underway to determine if the two were part of a larger group. According to sources, security forces had prior unconfirmed intelligence about the presence of seven to eight terrorists in the Khuban area of Majalta. The area had been under continuous surveillance following reports of suspicious activity. During the encounter, security forces responded to the militants' fire by firing seven to eight rockets and using drones for surveillance.
