Two Nigerians Extradited to US in Teen Sextortion Cases
Two Nigerian nationals have been extradited to the United States to face federal charges in separate sextortion cases that allegedly led to the suicides of two American teenagers. The men, Mudasiru Afeez Olawale, 24, and Adebola Festus Adekunle, 26, were transferred into U.S. custody in Nigeria on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and arrived in the United States the same day. They made their initial court appearances on August 29, in North Carolina and Mississippi, respectively. The extraditions were announced by the U.S. Department of Justice and Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
