Two cyclists killed, three arrested in Kent
Two cyclists were killed and a third sustained minor injuries after a car collided with a group of riders on Sole Street in Cobham, near Gravesend, Kent, on Sunday morning, September 6, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 7:47 a.m. Kent Police confirmed that a white Ford Focus was traveling along Sole Street towards Meopham when it struck three cyclists. Emergency services attended the scene, where a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s were pronounced dead. The third cyclist, who sustained minor injuries, received medical treatment. The families of the deceased have been informed. Following the collision, police arrested two men, aged 21, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A 19-year-old woman was also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. The road was closed for an investigation. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) of Kent Police is appealing for witnesses and anyone with information or relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in information regarding the car or cyclists prior to the collision.
