Trump to Address UN, Meet 11 Leaders Amid Wars

President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday and then hold meetings with no fewer than 11 world leaders, with the wars in Iran and Ukraine dominating the diplomatic agenda. In his speech, Trump warned that he could "annihilate" Iran without a peace deal, while also defending the US decision to attack the country. A White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the president was also expected to criticize the UN and other international bodies for what the administration views as encroachment on US sovereignty and a leftwing agenda. The speech kicks off a packed day of diplomacy. Later on Tuesday, Trump is set to meet British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Venezuela's interim leader Delcy Rodriguez, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and representatives of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. In the evening, he may meet dozens more leaders briefly at a leaders reception. Additions to the schedule are possible. Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday.
