Trump Proposes Renaming AI in Social Media Poll

Published 19 September 2026

President Donald Trump proposed renaming "Artificial Intelligence" to terms like "Superior Intelligence," "Extreme Intelligence," or "Supreme Intelligence," calling the current name "inaccurate" and "very ineloquent." On September 19, 2026, Trump posted on social media platforms X and Truth Social, launching a poll for users to vote on the "best name" for AI, which he described as an "ever growing Revolution." The poll included the three alternatives, and at the time of reporting, "Superior Intelligence" was leading with approximately 39% of the vote on X. Trump's proposal comes amid growing concerns within the AI industry about safety and regulation. In a separate post, he dismissed these concerns as a "hoax" generated by the "Radical Left Dumocrats," stating that he would not hinder the growth of the AI industry. Trump emphasized AI's potential as the "next Industrial Revolution," claiming it could contribute up to 25% of the country's GDP. He announced plans to form an "AI Force," similar to the Space Force established during his first term, and to appoint an "AI Czar" in the near future. These moves align with his administration's enthusiastic adoption of AI technology.
