Trump Named Honorary Chairman of 2026 Presidents Cup

President Donald Trump will serve as the honorary chairman of the 2026 Presidents Cup, the PGA Tour announced on August 29, 2026. The event is scheduled to take place at Medinah Country Club in the Chicago area from September 24 to 27, 2026. Trump confirmed his participation in a statement posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating he accepted the role at the request of the PGA Tour and its new commissioner, Brian Rolapp. In his statement, Trump called the upcoming competition "a particularly exciting event," noting that both teams are "loaded with Talent." He added that he looks forward to attending and greeting the athletes from both sides. This will mark the second time Trump has held the honorary chairman position, having previously served in the same role for the 2017 Presidents Cup at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey during his first presidential term. He also made an appearance at the opening round of the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black on Long Island. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp welcomed the president's involvement.
