Trump Labor Day posts: 'New America' maps, rival criticism
Former President Donald Trump marked Labor Day on Monday, September 7, 2026, with a series of social media posts criticizing political opponents and sharing numerous images, including maps that depicted New Mexico as "New America." In messages posted on Truth Social, Trump extended holiday wishes to "Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, and Dumocrats," whom he described as "Deranged People" attempting to "destroy our Country." He asserted that his opponents, after years of opposition, should acknowledge his ability to "WIN!" and predicted a significant Republican victory in the upcoming midterm elections to "SAVE AMERICA." The posts were accompanied by a wide array of visual content. Among the most notable were at least eight maps that relabeled New Mexico as "New America." One map depicted the entirety of North America, including Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean islands, as part of the United States. These map creations mimicked official government formats, such as those from the U.S. Geological Survey and the CIA World Factbook, and included fabricated dates.
