Trump Announces 9 New Drug Pricing Deals With Pharma Companies

Published 1 September 2026

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that nine additional pharmaceutical companies have agreed to join his administration's initiative to lower U.S. drug prices, a move officials said would expand the program to cover approximately 90% of the domestic branded-drug market. The new agreements bring the total number of participating companies to 26, building on deals struck with 17 major drugmakers last year. The companies signing the latest voluntary agreements are Alcon, Astellas Pharma, BeOne Medicines, BridgeBio, CSL, Kyowa Kirin, Sun Pharma, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and UCB.
