Trey Songz Sues Promoter Over Unpaid Fee, Concert Postponement

Published 24 August 2026

R&B singer Trey Songz has filed a lawsuit against concert promoter Darryl Austin, alleging a breach of contract that led to the cancellation of a scheduled performance in Fort Worth, Texas. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks more than $500,000 in damages, claiming the promoter's failure to make a required payment and subsequent unauthorized postponement of the show caused significant financial and reputational harm. According to the legal complaint, Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, and Austin finalized a contract on April 16 for a performance at the Will Rogers Auditorium on August 8.
