Trailer Drops for Sam Altman Biopic Artificial

Neon has released the first trailer for "Artificial," a film dramatizing the tumultuous events surrounding OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's brief firing and swift reinstatement in late 2023. The movie, directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Andrew Garfield as Altman, is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on Christmas Day, December 25, 2026. The trailer depicts an ominous future shaped by artificial intelligence, with Garfield's Altman seen walking through a compound that leads to a room stocked with guns and survival supplies. In a voiceover, Altman predicts profound societal shifts, stating, "We opened Pandoras Box together. The future is inevitable. Countries will fall. Industries are gonna collapse, and we get to be the ones to shepherd people into this new world." The film chronicles the five-day corporate upheaval at OpenAI that began when the board removed Altman as CEO in November 2023. Mira Murati, played by Monica Barbaro, briefly served as interim CEO before Altman was reinstated following intense pressure from employees and investors.
