Toshifumi Suzuki, the retail executive who built 7-Eleven into the world’s largest convenience store chain and reshaped Japan’s commercial landscape, died of heart failure on May 18 at the age of 93. Seven i Holdings, the Tokyo-based parent conglomerate, confirmed his passing on May 25.
