Tom Selleck to Guest Star in Apple TV+ Comedy Series

Tom Selleck is returning to television for the first time since the conclusion of his long-running police drama, joining the cast of an upcoming comedy series for Apple TV+. The Emmy-winning actor, 81, has been confirmed as a guest star on an as-yet-untitled half-hour comedy created by Liz Heldens and Matt Ward. The project marks Selleck's first major acting role since his 14-season run as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan on CBS's Blue Bloods ended in December 2024. The series stars Elizabeth Banks as Heidi, a newly divorced woman attempting to build a new life for herself and her children. Her plans take an unexpected turn when she becomes involved in coordinating romantic encounters for the residents at her father's retirement community. Selleck will reunite with his Three Men and a Baby costar Ted Danson, who plays Heidi's father. The ensemble cast also includes Rob Delaney, Katey Sagal, Jared Goldstein, and Spencer Moss, with Hamish Linklater, Michelle Buteau, and Simu Liu in recurring roles.
