Tim Westwood faces two new sexual offence charges

The Crown Prosecution Service authorised two additional sexual-offence charges against former Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood on September 22, 2026, bringing the total number of charges against him to 17 involving nine women. The new charges, approved following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, allege that Westwood indecently assaulted a girl aged 16 or 17 in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1991 and sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman in Wandsworth in May 2004. The two allegations involve women who were not among the seven complainants connected with the original charges. Catherine P Baccas, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor, said the Crown Prosecution Service had authorised two further charges of sexual assault and indecent assault against Westwood, relating to separate reports of non-recent offences in 1991 and 2004 involving two additional women. The original 15 charges, brought in 2025, relate to alleged offences between 1983 and 2016 involving seven women. They comprise four counts of assault, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault, with alleged offences reported in London and, in one case, Stroud, Gloucestershire.
