ThunderCats Live-Action Film Still in Development

Filmmaker Adam Wingard has confirmed that his long-gestating live-action adaptation of the 1980s animated series "ThunderCats" remains in development, though it is not currently his primary focus. In an interview published this week, Wingard stated the project is "still kicking around" and "not dead," providing the first significant update in years. Wingard, known for directing "Godzilla vs. Kong" and its sequel, was first attached to develop and direct the "ThunderCats" film for Warner Bros. in 2021. He is co-writing the screenplay with frequent collaborator Simon Barrett.
