Three killed in Los Angeles news helicopter crash

A news helicopter crashed in the Chatsworth neighborhood of Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, killing three people, including two crew members and one person on the ground. The aircraft, identified as NewsChopper4, was operated by Angel City Air for NBC4 Los Angeles and its Spanish-language sister station, Telemundo 52. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the crash occurred just before 7 p.m. at 9151 N. Mason Avenue, where the helicopter came down between two commercial buildings. The impact ignited a fire that damaged four vehicles and two storage containers. The two crew members killed were identified as aerial reporter Eliana Moreno, 38, and pilot George Marciniw, 70, both employees of Angel City Air. The third fatality was a person on the ground whose identity has not been released. Two other individuals were hospitalized, and their conditions were not immediately available. The helicopter was covering a separate fatal collision between a Metro bus and an SUV when it crashed. That earlier incident, which occurred approximately two hours prior, killed at least two people and injured several others. Multiple news and police helicopters were in the area at the time.
