Three arrested after Essex hotel stabbing

Three men from London have been arrested following a stabbing incident at an Essex hotel where an event was taking place, leaving four people injured. Essex Police were called to a venue on Stifford Clays Road in North Stifford shortly before midnight on Saturday, September 5, 2026, after receiving reports that a number of people had been stabbed. Upon arriving at the scene, officers identified four individuals with injuries. The force believes approximately 100 people were present at the hotel at the time of the altercation. Three men were detained at the location. Two men, aged 24 and 25 and from Hackney, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. A 21-year-old man from Enfield was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm without intent. All three remained in custody as of Sunday, September 6, 2026. Essex Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information. A spokesperson for the force urged anyone with details about the incident to come forward.
