Three arrested after Bihar minors harassed in viral video

Police in Bihar's Jamui district have arrested three suspects and identified seven individuals in connection with the harassment of two minors, an incident captured in viral videos that has sparked widespread outrage and political condemnation. The confrontation occurred on the evening of September 19, according to district officials. The victims, identified as Class 10 students, were returning from coaching classes on a scooter when they were stopped by a group of youths in the Jamui Sadar police station area. Videos circulating online show the teenagers being surrounded, questioned, and subjected to physical harassment. In the footage, the girl can be heard pleading with the group, while the boy is seen being pulled by his clothing. Jamui Superintendent of Police Bishwajit Dayal stated that police took suo motu cognizance of the videos after no initial complaint was filed by the victims or their families. "Although the incident is two days old, no complaint was made before us by the boy or the girl till Sunday," Dayal told reporters. He confirmed that the victims were traced with the help of a vehicle registration number visible in the video.
