Threads Launches New Podcast Promotion Tools for Creators
Meta announced on Wednesday that its social media platform Threads is launching a suite of new tools designed to help podcast creators promote their shows and engage with audiences. The update, which positions Threads as a hub for podcast discussion and promotion rather than hosting, introduces features including podcast profile cards, tappable episode links, and the ability to post transcripts directly on the platform. The new tools allow creators to display podcast profile cards and banners on their profiles and in posts. When a creator shares an episode link, Threads will convert it into a tappable card that can include a video clip, a written transcript excerpt, or a highlighted guest card if the featured guest is tagged. Users can also save podcast-related posts to listen to later. Meta is also adding audience measurement tools that provide insights into post performance, showing views from followers, non-followers, and the total audience. Threads will send creators reminders when a new episode drops, encouraging them to share the latest content on the app. This feature aims to keep creators active and connected with their listeners.
