Published 24 August 2026

Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has expressed deep hurt after learning through television reports that his daughter and Prince Harry are planning to relocate to the United Kingdom with their two children. The 82-year-old, who is recovering in a U.S. rehabilitation center following the amputation of his left leg, stated he found out about the move at the same time as the general public, dashing his hopes of a potential reconciliation. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, are reportedly preparing to return to Britain before the end of August 2026.
