Thieves Steal Bronze Age Gold From Spanish Museum in Four-Minute Raid

Professional thieves stole a significant portion of one of Europe's most important Bronze Age gold collections from a museum in Spain on Thursday morning, completing the raid in under four minutes. The heist targeted the Treasure of Villena at the Villena Museum in the Alicante province, with the thieves making off with the majority of the prehistoric artifacts. The robbery occurred in the early hours of August 27, 2026. According to officials, a diversionary tactic was employed when an alarm sounded at the municipal sports center at approximately 5:16 a.m. Minutes later, at around 5:20 a.m., alarms at the museum were triggered. By the time authorities arrived at 5:24 a.m.
