The Mummy 4 Filming Begins September 7

Filming has officially commenced for "The Mummy 4," with Brendan Fraser returning to his iconic role as Rick O'Connell. The anticipated sequel began production on Monday, September 7, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the long-awaited project. Fraser confirmed the start of filming over the weekend while attending the Deauville American Film Festival. Fraser, who has been vocal about his desire to make a direct sequel to the original trilogy for years, expressed enthusiasm for reprising his character. He described the experience as "like seeing an old friend again" and noted his comfort with the professional stunt team. The film is set to reunite Fraser with Rachel Weisz, who reprises her role as Evelyn O'Connell for the first time since "The Mummy Returns" in 2001. Weisz did not appear in the 2008 installment, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," which will be disregarded in the new timeline. Joining Fraser and Weisz are several other key cast members from the original films. John Hannah returns as Evelyn's brother, Jonathan Carnahan, while Oded Fehr reprises his role as Medjai chief Ardeth Bay. Kevin J. O'Connor is also back as Beni Gabor.
