The Mosquito Bowl WWII Drama Trailer Released
Netflix has released the teaser trailer for Peter Berg's upcoming World War II drama, "The Mosquito Bowl," starring Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgård. The film, which blends American football with wartime action, is set for a limited theatrical release on October 30, 2026, followed by its debut on the streaming service November 25, 2026. Based on Buzz Bissinger's book, the movie chronicles the story of four prominent college football players who enlist in the U.S. Marines following the attack on Pearl Harbor. As they train for the impending invasion of Okinawa, these athletes participate in a legendary football game on Guadalcanal, a contest that would prove to be the last for many of its participants. Reports indicate that of the 65 players involved in the historical game, 15 died within a year. The central quartet of players is portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis. Peter Berg, known for his work on "Friday Night Lights," directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Mark L. Smith. The film is based on Bissinger's book, "The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II.
