Teri Hatcher to play Miranda Priestly

Published 7 September 2026

Actress Teri Hatcher will step into the role of the formidable editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly in the West End production of The Devil Wears Prada The Musical, taking over from her former Desperate Housewives co-star Vanessa Williams. Hatcher is scheduled to begin her run at London's Dominion Theatre on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Williams is set to perform her final show as Priestly on Saturday, September 19, 2026. In the interim period between Williams' departure and Hatcher's arrival, standby Miranda Priestly, Debbie Kurup, will cover the role. Hatcher's engagement is currently slated to conclude on February 6, 2027. Hatcher, known for her roles as Lois Lane in Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman and Paris Carver in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, expressed her enthusiasm for the part. "I've been fortunate enough to play some pretty formidable women throughout my career, but very few can compare to THE Miranda Priestly," Hatcher stated. "I'm absolutely delighted to be joining The Devil Wears Prada in the West End. Miranda is intelligent, commanding, and has a glorious way of putting you in your place while being funny at the same time.
