Telangana CM Alleges BJP Vote Deletion

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to delete the votes of Congress supporters through the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging a coordinated effort to influence the state's next Assembly elections. Speaking at a meeting of Congress leaders and workers in the Kodangal Assembly constituency on September 5, 2026, Reddy claimed the BJP-led Union government was targeting non-BJP-ruled states, including Telangana, by removing voters under the guise of correcting electoral rolls. Reddy alleged that the BJP had employed a similar strategy in Maharashtra, Bihar, and West Bengal to win elections and was now replicating it in Telangana. He specifically accused the party of targeting voters from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minority communities during the SIR process. The chief minister stated that the Congress would not remain passive and was prepared to counter any attempts to delete the names of its supporters. He warned that party workers would not tolerate such actions.
