Teenager charged with murder in Dungannon faces mental health assessment
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a 61-year-old man and the attempted murder of his wife and daughter following a violent incident at a home in County Tyrone. The teenager appeared before Omagh Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 1, where a judge ordered a mental health assessment. The charges stem from an incident on Saturday, August 29, when police were called to a disturbance at a house in the Lisnahull Road area of Dungannon at approximately 10:55 a.m. Officers discovered the body of the 61-year-old man. His 48-year-old wife was found with non-life-threatening injuries, and their eight-year-old daughter was severely injured.
