Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered a standout bowling performance for East Zone in their Duleep Trophy 2026 quarterfinal against North East Zone, taking two wickets in a single over on the third day of the match at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The left-arm orthodox spinner dismissed Kishan Lyngdoh and Imliwati Lemtur in quick succession during the 28th over of North East Zone's second innings, further tightening East Zone's grip on the contest. Sooryavanshi, who serves as East Zone's vice-captain under captain Ishan Kishan, had earlier made a limited impact with the bat, scoring eight runs off six balls in the first innings.
