Teen Charged With Murder After Man Pushed From Chicago Train

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with first-degree murder after a 29-year-old man was pushed from a moving Chicago Transit Authority train and killed, authorities said. The victim, Kyle Bickham, died after falling onto the electrified third rail and being struck by another train near the 69th Street station on the city's South Side. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon. Police initially reported that Bickham had jumped from the Red Line train, but a subsequent investigation determined he was pushed during an altercation involving three people. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office later ruled his death a homicide. Chicago police arrested the 15-year-old suspect on Friday in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. She faces charges of first-degree murder, mob action, murder by other forcible felony, and aggravated battery to a transit employee. During a juvenile court appearance on Saturday, a judge found probable cause on all counts and ordered her held in custody. She is scheduled to return to court on Monday, Sept. 14. Authorities have not released details about what triggered the confrontation.
