Tech3 KTM signs Senna Agius for 2027 MotoGP season

Published 16 September 2026

Tech3 KTM has completed its 2027 MotoGP lineup by signing 20-year-old Australian rider Senna Agius, who will join veteran Luca Marini. The announcement, made on September 16, 2026, finalizes the team's roster for the new 850cc era and completes the 22-rider grid for next season. Agius, currently competing in the Moto2 World Championship, steps up to the premier class to replace Maverick Vinales, who is confirmed to be leaving MotoGP at the end of the current season. Vinales is currently sidelined by a shoulder injury and has been replaced by Pol Espargaro for the Red Bull Ring round. The signing was described as a personal choice of new Tech3 team boss Guenther Steiner. "We believe Senna has what it takes to make a strong impact in the MotoGP," Steiner said. "He demonstrated impressive speed and maturity in the Moto2, but what really impressed us was his determination to keep improving and his attitude towards the work required to succeed." Agius expressed his excitement about the move. "Today, a lifelong dream of mine has come true reaching MotoGP," he said.
