TCU Safety Fields Arrested After Locker Room Assault on Teammate

A violent altercation inside the TCU football locker room has left wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma hospitalized with a brain bleed and resulted in the arrest and dismissal of transfer safety Jacob Fields. The incident, which occurred on August 13, 2026, inside the Walsh Athletic Complex, has cast a shadow over the start of the Horned Frogs' season and raised serious questions about team dynamics. According to arrest warrant affidavits and witness accounts, Ezukanma was looking at his phone when Fields approached and punched him in the head. The blow knocked Ezukanma unconscious. Witnesses, including sophomore wide receiver Terry Shelton, told TCU police that Fields then kicked Ezukanma in the head while he was on the ground. Shelton intervened, pushing Fields into the lockers. Ezukanma was rushed to Harris Hospital in downtown Fort Worth after reporting a splitting headache and ringing in his ears.
