TCS HyperVault to invest $7.4B in Hyderabad AI data center
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) subsidiary HyperVault will invest up to Rs 70,000 crore, approximately $7.4 billion, to develop a 1 gigawatt artificial intelligence data center campus in Hyderabad, Telangana. The project, announced on Saturday, September 5, 2026, is slated to be one of India's largest AI infrastructure facilities and is expected to be completed by June 2, 2028. The expansive campus will be situated on over 250 acres and is designed to cater to the significant computing demands of frontier AI companies, hyperscalers, and global enterprises. HyperVault and its partners plan to construct and manage the large-scale infrastructure, which will feature high-density computing capabilities, including liquid cooling technologies essential for advanced AI workloads. The project also emphasizes environmental sustainability, incorporating green energy sources and a water-neutral design. This initiative is anticipated to generate approximately 7,000 direct and indirect jobs, fostering growth across allied sectors such as power, cooling, networking, construction, and engineering.
