Tamil Nadu CM Vijay to flag off Silverstone race as Ajith Kumar competes

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is set to wave the ceremonial green flag at the Michelin Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in a notable public appearance alongside actor and racer Ajith Kumar, who will be competing on the track. The event brings together two of Indian cinema's biggest stars at one of the world's most famous motor racing circuits. The Michelin Le Mans Cup officially announced Vijay as a special guest, stating he will join the event to support the Indian drivers and officially start the Silverstone round. Vijay is in the United Kingdom on an official visit and is scheduled to attend the race as part of his London programme. Ajith Kumar will compete in the LMP3 ProAm category for the Ajith RedAnt by Virage team, driving the No. 16 Ligier JS P325 alongside his French teammate Romain Vozniak. The Indian contingent at Silverstone also includes former Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan and Aditya Patel, who will race as an all-Indian pairing in the LMP3 class.
