Survivor Greece contestant sues producers for $100M

Stavros Floros, a contestant on the Greek edition of the reality competition show Survivor, is suing the production companies for more than $100 million, alleging negligence led to a severe accident that resulted in the partial amputation of his left leg. The lawsuit, filed in Miami, Florida, on September 3, 2026, claims that producers failed to ensure contestant safety while filming in the Dominican Republic earlier this year. Floros, who was 22 at the time of the incident on May 11, 2026, alleges that contestants were required to spearfish in open waters to supplement minimal rations. He asserts that the designated fishing area was heavily trafficked by tourist boats and that production failed to establish a safe zone, provide safety boats, or implement adequate warning markers. According to the lawsuit, contestants' phones were confiscated, preventing them from summoning help in emergencies, and production did not provide safety personnel or spotters to alert them to approaching vessels. The accident occurred when a tourist boat's propeller struck Floros's legs while he was spearfishing. His left leg was partially amputated below the knee and was not recovered from the water.
