Supergirl movie streams on HBO Max September 10

Published 4 September 2026

DC Studios' film "Supergirl" is set to make its global streaming debut on HBO Max on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The movie will subsequently premiere on HBO's linear channel on Saturday, September 12, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. An American Sign Language (ASL) version, performed by Catalene Sacchetti and directed by Jonaz McMillan, will also be available exclusively on HBO Max the same day. Directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock in the title role, "Supergirl" is the second major film in the rebooted DC Universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The film follows Kara Zor-El, cousin of Kal-El, also known as Superman, as she embarks on an interstellar journey. The plot centers on Kara reluctantly joining forces with an unlikely companion to save her dog, Krypto, from a ruthless adversary, exploring themes of vengeance and justice. Alcock's portrayal of Kara Zor-El is described as having a more irreverent edge compared to traditional versions of the character. The cast also features Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, David Corenswet reprising his role as Superman, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
