Strategy Buys Back $139M in STRC, Pauses Bitcoin Purchases Again

Published 14 September 2026

Strategy, the Bitcoin treasury company formerly known as MicroStrategy, repurchased $139.3 million of its STRC preferred stock between September 8 and September 13, 2026, while making no purchases or sales of Bitcoin for a second consecutive week. The company's latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission details the continued prioritization of capital structure management over Bitcoin accumulation. According to the disclosure, Strategy used its USD Cash reserve to buy back 1,420,467 shares of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, which trades under the ticker STRC. The company's Bitcoin holdings remained unchanged at 845,050 BTC, a position acquired for approximately $63.73 billion at an average cost of $75,412 per coin. This holding represents over 4% of Bitcoin's maximum supply of 21 million coins. The repurchase was funded entirely from Strategy's USD Cash balance, which stood at $1.30 billion as of September 13, down from $1.44 billion a week earlier. The company's USD Reserve, which is designated to support preferred stock dividends and interest payments, remained at $5.10 billion.
