Stephen Graham Joins Cast of Michael Mann's Heat Sequel

Stephen Graham has officially joined the cast of Michael Mann's highly anticipated sequel to the 1995 crime classic, Heat. While specific character details have not been confirmed, Graham is reportedly set to portray a younger version of master thief Neil McCauley, a role originally played by Robert De Niro in the original film. The casting news comes as other key roles are also being filled by prominent actors. According to reports, Christian Bale is slated to take on the role of LAPD detective Vincent Hanna, originally portrayed by Al Pacino. Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to play Chris Shiherlis, the righthand man to McCauley, a character previously embodied by Val Kilmer. The sequel is based on Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner's 2022 novel, which serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the original story. The book explores the early lives of McCauley and Hanna, as well as continuing the narrative of Shiherlis after he survived the events of the first film. Graham, known for his roles in "Adolescence" and "A Thousand Blows," joins a growing ensemble that reportedly includes Adam Driver, Jason Clarke, and Odessa Young.
