South Africa Seizes 333kg Cocaine at OR Tambo Airport

South African authorities have seized more than 333 kilograms of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value exceeding R200 million in two separate interceptions at OR Tambo International Airport. The busts occurred on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, according to official statements released on Wednesday. National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that no arrests have been made and that investigations are underway to identify those responsible for importing and distributing the drugs. The seizures were carried out by South African Police Service members working with other law enforcement agencies, including Customs officials from the South African Revenue Service.
