Sonu Sood arrives in Nepal with flood relief
Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has arrived in Nepal to provide assistance to communities devastated by recent floods, bringing essential supplies and pledging long-term support for rebuilding efforts. Sood, accompanied by his team from the Sood Charity Foundation, landed in Kathmandu on September 1, 2026, with relief materials including food and blankets. During his visit, Sood traveled to affected areas such as Trishuli Bazar and Nuwakot, engaging directly with flood victims and assessing the extent of the damage. He described the situation as heartwrenching, noting the unimaginable loss and devastation faced by many families. "Standing here today at the Trishuli River, where the floods have left behind unimaginable loss broken homes, broken families, and lives changed forever," Sood stated on social media. "Nepal is not alone. I stand with its people, and I will do everything I can to bring hope, rebuild homes, and help families begin again." The floods, which were triggered by an ice and rock collapse near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, 2026, have resulted in significant loss of life and widespread displacement.
