Snoop Dogg Biopic Casts Biggie Smalls

Published 8 September 2026

Universal Pictures has finalized key casting for its upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic, titled "Snoop." Rapper SwayvoTwain, son of R&B artists D'Angelo and Angie Stone, has been cast as Christopher Wallace, famously known as The Notorious B.I.G. The film, which aims to chronicle Snoop Dogg's rise to fame in the 1990s, is scheduled for release on August 6, 2027. In addition to SwayvoTwain's portrayal of Biggie Smalls, the production has also cast Bentley Green as rapper RBX and G Perico as Big Reecie Cup. These roles are significant as they connect to Snoop Dogg's early career and his roots in Long Beach. Jonathan Daviss is set to star as the titular rap icon, Snoop Dogg. The film's ensemble cast also includes Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, Lauren London as Snoop Dogg's late mother, Beverly Tate, Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, and Algee Smith as Warren G. Other cast members include Laya DeLeon Hayes as Shante Broadus, Olly Sholotan as Kurupt, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg, and Jonica Booth as The Lady of Rage. Tre Hale was previously cast as Suge Knight. The casting brings together figures central to the hip-hop landscape of the 1990s, a period marked by the intense East Coast-West Coast rivalry.
