SNL U.K. adds Freddie Meredith for season 2
Freddie Meredith, a comedian and actor known for his roles in "Such Brave Girls" and "Big Boys," has joined the cast of Saturday Night Live U.K. for its upcoming second season. Meredith's addition was announced ahead of the show's return, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Meredith comes to the sketch comedy series following a successful debut at the Edinburgh Fringe festival last month, where his show "Need a Light?" earned him a nomination for best newcomer. He will be part of an ensemble that includes all 11 cast members from the show's acclaimed first season. Returning cast members include Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young. Meredith described joining the iconic show as "a no brainer," stating, "It's the most iconic comedy show and it looks like so much fun. It will undoubtedly inform everything I do for the rest of my career and I can't wait for the experience." He trained as an actor before transitioning to comedy, developing a following through online sketches and stand-up performances.
