Six killed, 12 injured in Telangana bus-truck collision

Six people, including five women, were killed and at least 12 others injured when a private passenger bus collided with a truck on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway in Telangana's Suryapet district in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The crash occurred near Dwarakunta in Kodad mandal on the NH65 corridor, a busy interstate route connecting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. According to police, the incident took place between approximately 4:30 a.m. and 5:20 a.m. The private bus, operated by Fresh Air Travels and carrying more than 40 passengers, was traveling from Hyderabad to Eluru via Vijayawada when it collided with the rear of a truck.
