Singer D4vd and Associates Sued in Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 14-year-old girl allegedly murdered and dismembered by recording artist D4vd, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the singer and several associates. The civil suit, lodged in Los Angeles County Superior Court on September 7, 2026, seeks damages from D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, as well as his manager, his mother, a talent management company, and a live-in security guard. The lawsuit echoes criminal charges alleging that Burke fatally stabbed Hernandez in April 2025 at his Hollywood Hills home, then dismembered her body in an attempt to conceal the crime. According to the complaint, Burke, 21, began a sexual relationship with Hernandez when she was 13, a relationship that allegedly continued until her death. Prosecutors contend that Burke murdered the teenager to prevent her from revealing their relationship and potentially damaging his burgeoning music career. The lawsuit claims that Burke arranged for Hernandez to be transported to his home via Uber on the night of her death, where she was allegedly stabbed and left to bleed out.
