Seven injured including toddler in Baltimore shooting

A shooting in Baltimore on Wednesday night injured seven people, including a three-year-old boy, prompting a police investigation and condemnation from city officials. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of East Fayette Street in the Washington Hill neighborhood, according to the Baltimore Police Department. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found multiple victims. All seven injured individuals were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The three-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital in the back of a police patrol car. His current condition was not immediately available. Police Commissioner Richard Worley stated there is no ongoing threat to the public but that a police presence remains in the area. "It appears that all the gunfire was shot in one direction," Worley said when asked about a possible motive. He condemned the shooters as "cowards." Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott made a direct appeal to those responsible. "There is no way, to those individuals, there is no way for you to reclaim humanity after doing that," Scott said during a press conference.
