Sequans Sells Final 314 Bitcoin, Ends Treasury Strategy

Published 25 September 2026

Sequans Communications said it sold its final 314 Bitcoin on September 24, ending its Bitcoin treasury strategy and leaving the semiconductor company with no cryptocurrency holdings. The company said the exit followed the redemption of its convertible debt in May and will allow it to focus its resources on its cellular Internet of Things and software-defined radio businesses. Chief Executive Georges Karam said the company used Bitcoin sales to eliminate its convertible debt and strengthen its balance sheet. Sequans said it has no other outstanding debt apart from obligations connected to government-financed research and development projects. The company did not provide details of the final sale price in the statements summarized in its announcement. The sale completes a retreat from a treasury strategy that had once left Sequans with more than 3,200 BTC. The company began reducing its holdings in November 2025, when it sold 970 BTC and said the proceeds helped cut its debt. It sold additional Bitcoin in 2026 as it addressed its financing obligations, and in May said it would no longer pursue the treasury strategy and would monetize its remaining holdings over time.
