SEMICON India 2026 sees 25 partnerships to boost chip ecosystem

The second day of SEMICON India 2026 saw 25 key announcements and collaborations aimed at strengthening India's domestic semiconductor ecosystem, with global and local companies signing agreements across manufacturing, materials, logistics, and workforce development. Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw said participation increased further on the second day, with strong business-to-business engagement and several agreements concluded during meetings. The event, which runs until September 19 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, has attracted more than 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international participants, and is expected to draw about 50,000 visitors from 52 countries. Nearly 12,000 people attended the first day, with industry professionals making up the majority. Among the most active companies, Tata Electronics announced a series of partnerships to develop the domestic supply chain. The company collaborated with INOX Air Products to strengthen the local availability of high-purity gases and with Sumitomo Chemical to localize high-purity wet chemicals for semiconductor manufacturing.
