Samsung Launches Affordable Galaxy Book 6 Laptop at $799

Published 2 September 2026

Samsung has launched a new, more affordable model in its Galaxy Book 6 laptop lineup, introducing a 14-inch device starting at $799 that aims to compete directly with Apple's MacBook Neo. The new laptop, which began sales in the United States on August 31, 2026, features Intel processors, integrated Galaxy AI tools, and a battery life Samsung claims can last up to 25 hours on a single charge. The launch expands the Galaxy Book 6 series, which was first unveiled at CES in January 2026 and initially went on sale in the US in March with models starting at $1,050. This new entry is positioned as a value-focused option, undercutting the original models by at least $250 while offering a larger screen and more ports than its primary competitor, the $699 MacBook Neo. The device is powered by either an Intel Core 3 or Core 5 processor, depending on the configuration, and includes an Intel NPU capable of up to 15 TOPS for AI tasks. It can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe storage. The 14-inch WUXGA LCD display has a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution, 350 nits of brightness, and an anti-reflective coating.
