Samsung Begins Stable One UI 9 Rollout for Galaxy S26 Series
Samsung has officially begun the stable rollout of its One UI 9 software update, based on Android 17, for the Galaxy S26 series. The update started in South Korea on September 16, 2026, marking the end of a beta testing period that began in May and included seven beta versions. The initial release is available for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung confirmed the rollout in a newsroom post, stating that the update will gradually expand to other Galaxy devices and markets. The company did not provide a specific global timeline, but the phased release is expected to reach additional regions in the coming days or weeks. One UI 9 introduces several new features, many of which first appeared on Samsung's latest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. These include My FanCam, which keeps a chosen person in focus while automatically reframing video, and Now Brief, which now offers customizable cards. The update also adds Now Nudge, an AI feature that provides contextual action cards based on on-screen activity.
