Ryan Gosling Developing Live-Action Flintstones Reboot

Ryan Gosling is developing a live-action reboot of the classic animated series The Flintstones for Warner Bros., with the project centering on an adult version of the character Bamm-Bamm Rubble. According to multiple reports, the actor and his producing partner, Jessie Henderson, are in the early stages of development and are currently searching for a writer to pen the script. The film will focus on Bamm-Bamm Rubble, the son of neighbors Barney and Betty Rubble. In the original 1960s Hanna-Barbera cartoon, Bamm-Bamm was a baby known for his super strength. The character was later aged up into a teenager for the early 1970s CBS animated series The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, where he attended Bedrock High School, dated Pebbles Flintstone, and formed a band called the Bedrock Rockers. This new project will explore a grown-up iteration of the character. The Flintstones franchise has been adapted for live-action film twice before. The 1994 film starred John Goodman as Fred Flintstone, Rick Moranis as Barney Rubble, Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma Flintstone, and Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble.
