Russian strikes kill six, injure dozens across Ukraine

Russian air strikes across multiple Ukrainian regions killed at least six people and injured dozens on Saturday, September 12, 2026, according to Ukrainian officials. The attacks targeted residential areas and infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Zhytomyr, and the Odesa region, where a series of overnight strikes caused widespread damage. In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed and 11 injured in assaults on the city of Zaporizhzhia and surrounding areas, regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said. The Russian military claimed its forces struck the Zaporizhstal steel plant in the city. In Kryvyi Rih, two people were killed in overnight attacks by drones and missiles, according to local officials. The Russian Defence Ministry said it also hit an Interpipe Steel complex in Dnipro and several facilities in Kryvyi Rih, including the Northern Iron Ore Beneficiation Works complex. A Russian strike on a grocery store in the town of Zvyahel, in the Zhytomyr region, killed two people, regional Governor Vitaliy Bunechko reported. Two petrol stations and an unidentified enterprise were also attacked.
