Russian drone strike on bus in southern Ukraine kills five

A Russian drone struck a passenger bus in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on Wednesday morning, killing five people and injuring at least seven others, according to Ukrainian officials. The attack is part of a broader wave of Russian strikes across multiple Ukrainian regions that killed at least nine people and injured 36 others over the past day. Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported the bus strike on Telegram, stating that the drone directly hit the vehicle while it was carrying passengers on a known route. "Five people have been killed and at least seven wounded as a result of an enemy strike on a minibus in the Nikopol district. The Russians hit the bus with a drone," Hanzha said. Photos provided by regional officials showed a white minibus with windows blown out and blood streaming down one side. Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, said the victims were civilians traveling on an ordinary route. "This morning, the enemy attacked a passenger bus in the Nikopol district in which people were simply going about their business," Lukashuk said.
