Russia names UK sites as potential targets

Published 30 August 2026

Russia has escalated its threats against British infrastructure, identifying specific drone and missile manufacturing sites as potential targets in retaliation for the United Kingdom's continued military support to Ukraine. The warnings, issued by a former senior Kremlin official, come days after Prime Minister Andy Burnham visited Kyiv and pledged to provide Ukraine with blueprints for long-range Storm Shadow missiles. Andrei Fedorov, a former deputy foreign minister of Russia and an adviser to President Vladimir Putin, described the UK as "evil number one" in interviews published on August 30, 2026.
